I want to welcome you to this new session of Parliament by sharing with you a message and song from a Traditional Owner of Malgana Country (Shark Bay area), Bianca McNeair.

For nearly 50 years there were no recordings of Malgana language in existence. Last year, the Welcome Song, Yandani Gatharagudu, breathed new life in to this nearly-lost language.
For a Malgana person like Bianca, culture, land and sea are intertwined in a way that for one to survive, the other must be protected.
For the 66 Create Ranger Parks properties (former pastoral leases across the Mid West and Pilbara) this protection is needed now, in the form of protected parks managed by Indigenous rangers.
Like me, Bianca is a supporter of Create Ranger Parks. What will you do to ensure that all Western Australians have the opportunity to visit and experience not only Malgana country but all the Outback gems that make up Create Ranger Parks?
